Prestigious Harvey Awards Returns to New York City for Annual Celebration
on Friday, October 4,During New York Comic Con

NEW YORK, NY – August 14, 2019 – The Harvey Awardstoday revealed the nominees for their annual comics industry awardsin the following six categories, which will be voted on by professionals from August 14 to September 10, 2019. The winners will be announced on October 4 at the Harvey Awards gala.

The Harvey Awards honor achievement in comic books across a variety of categories andrepresent one of the industry’s most prestigious and longest-running annual events.

The nomination ballot for this year’s awards was assembled by polling a hand-picked committee of diverse industry professionals who submitted their choices in all categories.The Harvey Awards ballot willbe voted on by eligible industry professionals including creators, in-house professionals, librarians, and retailers.Those who were approved for a Professional or an Artist Alley badge for a ReedPOP comic conventionfrom 2016 to 2019 (e.g. New York Comic Con, Emerald City Comic Con, C2E2, Keystone Comic Con) are automatically eligible to cast their ballot,which will be sent to them via email.

Details for the annual gala celebrating the Harvey Awards were also announced today. ReedPOP and New York Comic Con will host the Harvey Awards on Friday, October 4, at an invitation-only ceremony at Hudson Mercantile at 8:30 p.m. to present this year’s awards and honor the legacy of legendary creator Harvey Kurtzman.
